Great Holiday Serving Board Ideas

Great Holiday Serving Board Ideas

Are you hosting a party this holiday season? While traditional cheese boards are delicious (and make great gifts), don’t be afraid to switch things up for the season and create something unique and fun.

Treats for Santa

We often suggest labeling the types of cheese on our slate boards with the soapstone chalk but using the board for Santa’s treats makes it fun for the kids, too. They can label the types of cookies or where the milk goes on the board, or they could write a note to Santa with the chalk. You can decorate the board with holiday images, too.

Christmas Candy or Cookie Boards

Cheese is always a winner, but cookies and candy are more fun at Christmas!

Use small boards for M&Ms and popcorn or put frosting in the bowls to spread on sugar cookies. Then stack a variety of cookies and chocolate bark around the board.

Another fun choice is a Hot Chocolate serving board! Put different types of hot chocolate powder in bowls with measuring spoons (preferably festive spoons!). Stack the board with peppermint and cinnamon sticks, or serve crushed peppermint as a topping in bowls. Don’t forget the marshmallows!

Simple Switches

Maybe your crowd would prefer a traditional cheese or grazing board. That doesn’t mean it can’t be festive! Find holiday spoons and cheese spreaders to dress up the board, or include a bowl or festive fruits like figs or pomegranate seeds for added color. You can use candy canes to decorate the board without making the entire tray centered on candy.

With these great ideas, you’re ready to host a holiday party or leave out treats for Santa. Soapstone Products carries cheeseboards and serving boards of different sizes as the perfect addition to your home for the holidays.
